Inspired: Industrial bedroom

I've just seen this posted in Vosgesparis and I could not but re-blogged it: it's just the perfect inspiration for one of our "home urgent tasks": restore the "maybe" Tolix chairs we found at the flea market a couple of weeks ago. D. and me have been wonder what colour would have suited them better since we bought them. They still have traces of the original galvanised green painting but it is in such bad condition and I am not sure I'd like to have a green chair in my house because, at the moment, my colour scheme is white-black-white-wood-grey: very Mediterranean, isn't it? : )
So it was between white and black (with a hint of grey in each case) until I started to wonder about approaching them according to the restoration principle of allowing only the structure to be visible by taking away the layers of  . A very architectural definition of a simpler "take away dust and dirt" and those bits of galvanised painting that ruins it. I'm sure D. will find these i pictures so inspiring he will agree with me. Or, at least, I hope so. : )

Here are our beloved chairs.

WEEKEND SPECIAL | Lotta Agaton

Scandinavian designers must be queueing up to book Lotta Agaton: her work is simply, always stunning. She also works with a couple of the Swedish photographers, one of them has already been featured before, Petra Bindel.
This house is essentially a monochrome work: the sever feeling giving by the matching of black and white is warmed up by the use of grey and brown shades. The furniture is reduced to minimum while a sense of "homie" life is granted by the objects and the prints in the living. And the "dots" of greenery here and there: I love the white peonies int the living room and the wild flowers in the bedroom are so chic.

Inspired: Scandinavian echoes

Shareen Joel started her own company in 2003 following her employment with Ford Motor company. With a a passion for pushing conceptual and experimental design, her influence is notable within the design world and has led to her inclusion within notable international exhibitions including an invitation to lecture at the prestigious Beckmans School of Design in Stockholm.
Her work is characterized by an allegiance to simplicity, balance, elegance and proportion and the credo that all her projects must become an integral part of the environment for which they are intended.
The colours and the materials chosen for this residential project in Australia echo the interiors of modern Scandinavian houses, with their shades of grey, white and black together with naturally treated wooden pieces.

Moodboard: White on Wood

A great sense of calm and peace irradiates from this Notting Hill house-showroom that belongs to the Interior designer behind Parma Lilac, Janie Jackson. Her simple and minimal approach to space, surfaces, textures and objects is breathtaking.

White and grey apartment

These picture are taken from a Swedish real estate agency, named Alvhelm. A very  spacious, bright apartment filled with design pieces: I started counting them and I had just to give up. Amazing space.

Petra Bindel: photoshoot from a Scandinavian home.

One of my favourite interior photographer is Petra Bindel: I think very few people is able to catch the spirit of a house as she does. She's silent; her presence fades away in front of the space revealing its poetry. Here are some photos from one of her work for Elle Decoration UK. The house belongs to Emma Persson Lagerberg, a Swedish free lance writer and interior stylist. The photos come from the first shoot Petra Bindel took and dates back to 2009.
I fell in love immediately with the wooden floors, the white / black / wood colour palette and the collection of design objects showed. And the kitchen ..

on cloud nine

We are very happy: we have finally moved to our favourite district in Barcelona, Vila de Gracia, and everything looks just so perfect.

..We really feel like being on cloud nine...
