Have you already read Annaleena Leino Karlsson's last post? She discusses the difficulty of giving an answer to people asking what is trendy right
now in Interior design.
Annaleena's considerations made me wonder how much interior trends affect my decision to pick objects and patterns for my home (or just select them for my wish list). Sometimes I almost feel overwhelmed by all those beautiful images, pins
and posts: there are so many "trendy ideas" it made me hard to pick one. Today copper and concrete + pink/dark grey shades are the
must-do/must-have and I love the shades and the design
proposals but ... are they really me?
Yes and not.
Like most of you out there, I'm inspired by new stylings and I adore to discover new, unpredictable ways to arrange things. But, at the same time, I need to let everything decants for a while in order to be able to pick MY choice and not simply consume that idea. That's why I love Annaleena's house: it has got that timeless atmosphere, a place that just her can call home. It's an expression of the real life
of someone. So,I would say that, more than a trend, I'm searching for my
timeless reality to call home.
What about you? How much do trends affect your approach to your home?
