String, a walk to the dark side

The beginning of the year brings always great excitement for all the news coming from the different brands for their Spring/Summer campaign. Of course, I have my favourite ones to be looking for: they are selected for both the quality and durability of their products and their outstanding ability to communicate and inspire us new way of inhabit the everyday space. Among these it is String new catalogue, again a joined work of long-time favourite Lotta Agaton (style)Magnus Ingerstedt (AD), Marcus Lawett (photo).

String has always been synonymous of adaptability to space and necessity by the possibility of moving the pieces within the different panels as well as adding new elements to the existing ones. This year, thanks also to the introduction of new shades for both shelves and panels (the115 cm tall floor panels will be available also in black and in grey), a new horizon of combinations is made possible.

For String 2016 catalogue, a clear statement has been done: it is definitely time to embrace dark and earthy colours at home (have you seen this breathtaking all black styling featuring the new, black stained ash?).

The light and elegant String system, to me always connected to whiteness, is making now a bold statement by showing how it can actually adapt to any space and style, taking their well known flexibility to a new concept and chapter.
So, here it is in the Plexy version in an antique vintage bathroom, while the more classic combination in walnut fits perfectly as an entrance console in the masculine scenario. The old industrial look is maintained for the more feminine bedroom where Pocket with oak shelves is used as multi-function element that serve as traditional shelves and, contemporary, as bedside tables.

I would personally put a String in any room, from the kitchen to Bianca's nursery: what about you?

A new project by Studio Oink

German office STUDIO OINK specializes in interior and set design for both private customers and media partners. Its work is always characterized by a simple, essential approach to the space and set and the ability to bring together poetry and function into the design.
Lea Korzeczek and Matthias Hiller, the founders and creative directors of STUDIO OINK, has just released their latest styling work, HOUSE C.A.L. The space is calm and relaxing thanks to the soft neutral tones and the use of wood furniture.

I especially like the Aura Ligths by Ladies and Gentleman Studio, an old friend of my wishlist.

The work of Elisa Ossino

I'm a very big fan of the work of Italian stylist Elisa Ossino and her team and I am very happy to tell you their new website is live. Head here to see some of their beautiful work, always so inspiring. Here you see the styling Elisa Ossino did for Boffi's Kitchenology: simple perfection.

You can see more of her work here and here.

KOKO KLIM, a refined organic collection for home

The Barcelona-based brand Koko Klim has just renewed its image thanks to the collaboration with Int-sight
Respect for nature and well being are at the core of Koko Klim's philosophy - as shown by the care in the selection of their natural materials, always 100% ecologically certified. The textiles are then transformed into an elegant and very curated collection of products for your home: some of the products are entirely handmade according with ancient techniques that give the object a unique value.

I particularly enjoy the new image of the brand: I feel they managed to make visible Koko Klim's special bond with nature and simple living.

From grey to brown with Lotta Agaton

I was looking at these pictures that photographer Magnus Marding shot for Residence magazine some time ago. The styling by our timeless favourite Lotta Agaton is always perfect but I am extremely fascinated by this move from grey shades to warm brown tones, from darker rooms to brighter interiors. What do you think?

URBAN JUNGLE BLOGGERS | Visual Box

I am very excited with today's post as this is the very first I publish within the Urban Jungle Group. The idea of this gang was born in the master minds of Igor from Happy Interior Blog and Judith from JOELIX.com: they wanted to share their green love with the blogging community and they managed to engage a lots of amazing bloggers in this adventure: I feel very honoured to be part of it.
This month task was to create something inspired by the upcoming Easter. Easter is one of my favourite family moments: it's a lovely gathering, especially now that the house is full of children. I love to see the light in their eyes when the huge chocolate eggs arrives, their happiness for the small surprises. It takes me back to my childhood and the time we spent in the afternoon making kites out of the chocolate egg paper. And the green fields, the canals full of running water, the softness of everything.
So I created a "visual box", where myself as child meets myself today surrounded by the spring atmosphere. I hope you will enjoy it.

Green styling with Intsight

I am very happy to present you today some pictures from the latest project of Intsight. The photos were taken for the TiempoBBDO / Simon. As you know, I especially love their work but this time it is very special to me as I collaborated for the green styling. It was an amazing experience to see the team working together and I have to say the atmosphere was extremely fascinating. It requires a great dose of professional experience and creativity to produce an overall image that is able to captivate the viewer without diverting the attention from the product. This is especially true when the element to present has such a reduced size.  Intsight's decision to create a series of "real life" situations to present the catalogue made the trick; also, it added that necessary setting that could inspire the public and engage them with TiempoBBDO / Simon.
It was a real pleasure - and great experience - working with Intsight.

Emma Fexeus at Fantastic Frank: the Bloggers Apartment

I am eventually back to Barcelona after three weeks away and I have now enough time to introduce you to the very core of our Stockholm Blogger Tour, i.e. the Bloggers Apartment. Born from an idea of our mastermind Allan Torp of Bungalow5, the Apartment came into life at the very office of Fantastic Frank: Emma Fexeus took over part of their headquarters in Stockholm and transformed the space into a cosy and cool home by mixing the elements provided by our sponsors in an impeccable way. She managed to create a "real home" where people could feel comfortable and enjoy themselves as surely did the over one hundred design people that came along for the party we hosted. I must say the atmosphere of the party was great: enjoying a glass of wine, listening to Bang & Olufsen Sound and having a chat with like-minded people while we laid on the super confy Auping beds was very nice. I am sure we also had the best "closing event" of the whole Stockholm Design week with our movie session at the flat the following day: candies and movie in a perfect B&O style, though I almost fell asleep on the huge One Nordic pillows once! Last but not least, I really want to thank Uber that kindly provided us with free rides throughout the week. Hopefully they will be  available soon also in Barcelona because I found the system easy, safe and very cool.

One Nordic Furniture Company provided most of  the furniture: here it is paired with Emilia Ilke's work.

Thanks again to Auping, Bang & Olufsen, Granit, No Early Birds, One Nordic Furniture Company and Uber. A very special thanks to Fantastic Frank who kindly hosted us: it was great to meet you and have an intsight of you amazing work.

Irina Graewe

The Monday Crush will arrive soon, no worries, but I just spotted these beautiful pictures by Irina Graewe and I couldn't help sharing them. Irina is an interior editor and stylist living in Hamburg. After her degree at the London College of Fashion - and a background as taylor at Jil Sander - she moved towards interiors and design, first as assistant to the Creative Director at Architektur&Wohnen and, after four years, as freelance interior stylist.
Her work has a strong narrative appeal: she is not just styling the elements, she is telling us a story with them. To me, this imaginative approach is extremely interesting because it involves the observer by capturing his imagination: we are almost forced into completing the story and, in this way, we get involved and create a bond with the objects. I have seen this imaginative approach used by fashion designers at the beginning of the creation of a new collection and I find extremely interesting.

In the end, aren't designers storytellers of the matter?

Xmas green

Elle Decoration Christmas issue is all about green this year, with painted walls to small conifers and accessories. Soft brown tones and copper accents add that twist to the inspiring collection of ideas for the upcoming festive season. My favourite detail is the dark green wall that works as a perfect background for the glittering decorations of the Christmas tree.
